  • Bernat® Blanket™ Yarn: 10.5 oz/220 yds
    • Rattan #11040: 8 balls or 1740 yds
  • Susan Bates® Crochet Hook: Size U.S. L/11 (or size needed to obtain gauge)
  • Susan Bates® Yarn Needle

  • SIZE: Approximately 58"x 65" (excluding fringe)

  • GAUGE: 7 sts and 4 rows = 4" in pat.

BLANKET:
NOTE:
Ch 3 at beg of row counts as dc.
Ch 158.
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook. 1 dc in each of next 14 ch. *1 sc in each of next 12 ch. 1 dc in each of next 16 ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Turn. 156 sts.
2nd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 15 dc. *Ch 12. Skip next 12 sts. 1 dc in each of next 16 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
3rd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 15 dc. *1 sc in each of next 12 ch. 1 dc in each of next 16 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
Rep 2nd and 3rd rows until work from beg measures approx 65" [165 cm] ending on a 3rd row.
Fasten off.

CHAIN LINK:
With RS facing, twist 1st horizontal bar at foundation row to form loop.
Draw 2nd horizontal bar through 1st bar without twisting.
Rep, drawing next bar through previous bar without twisting until all bars have been worked.
Sew last loop to second last loop to secure.

TOP FRINGE:
With RS facing, join yarn with sl st to top right corner.
**1st row: Ch 1. Work evenly across top of Blanket, working 3 sc across top of each Chain Link. Turn. 111 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. *(Sl st in next sc. Draw up a loop 16" long.
Twist loop 40 times. Sl st in same st, allowing twisted loop to coil around itself twice.
Sl st in next sc. Rep from * to last st. Sl st in next sc.
Draw up a loop 16" long.
Twist loop 40 times. Sl st in same st, allowing twisted loop to coil around itself. Fasten off.**

BOTTOM FRINGE:
With RS facing, join yarn with sl st to last ch of foundation ch.
Work from ** to ** as given for top fringe.
